Brock and Salk: Why Seattle Partners pulled its KeyArena bid and what it means for Chris Hansen

When Seattle Partners withdrew its bid to redesign KeyArena on Sunday, Mike Salk believes the group was essentially quitting before it lost.

In other words: Anschutz Entertainment Group and Hudson Pacific Properties, the two companies that make up Seattle Partners, knew that Seattle Mayor Ed Murray was about to choose the opposing bid from Oak View Group instead. The primary reasons, according to Salk’s sources, were that Seattle Partners’ proposal had too much public financing and a less appealing architectural design than that of OVG.
