Seahawks’ Patrick Lewis, Jeremy Lane expected to play vs. Steelers

RENTON – Seahawks center Patrick Lewis is listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against Pittsburgh, but coach Pete Carroll indicated that he and cornerback Jeremy Lane are expected to play.

Lewis injured his ankle last week against San Francisco, limping off the field for good in the fourth quarter. Carroll didn’t seem concerned about Lewis’ availability for Sunday’s game, noting that he was a full participant in practice all week.

Lane has yet to play this season as he continues to work his way back from the wrist and ankle injuries he sustained in the Super Bowl. He’ll have to be activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list by Saturday afternoon in order to be eligible to play Sunday, which means the Seahawks will have to make a subtraction from their 53-man roster.

Wide receiver Paul Richardson has been ruled out because of the hamstring injury that also kept him from playing last week. Carroll has the team still hopes to have Richardson back next week, which aligns with what he has said is a typical time-frame for coming back from that type of hamstring injury.

Linebacker Bruce Irvin is listed as doubtful, which means he will likely miss his second straight game as well due to a sprained knee. Carroll said Irvin got some work in on Thursday but that he probably won’t be able to play.

Running back Thomas Rawls is listed as probable as is expected to play. He was limited on Wednesday due to a sore knee and didn’t practice Friday while dealing with a cold, but Carroll said he’s fine.

Also listed as probable are right tackle Garry Gilliam (ankle), right guard J.R. Sweezy (shoulder), wide receiver Doug Baldwin (ankle) and defensive lineman Michael Bennett, who got a regularly scheduled day off on Thursday.
