As expected, the Mariners have called up left-handed pitcher Ariel Miranda from Triple-A Tacoma to start Tuesday’s Game 2 against the Houston Astros.

The Mariners optioned utility player Taylor Motter to the Rainiers to make room for Miranda on the active roster.

Motter went 4 for 15 (.267) a home run and two runs scored in seven games with the Mariners.

Coverage for Tuesday’s game begins at 6 p.m. with the pregame show on 710 ESPN Seattle.
