J.D. McKissic...

J.D. McKissic's regular-season debut was a two-score performance, and he reflects on the game during the Seahawks Spotlight on "Danny, Dave and Moore."

RENTON – Football is a business.

We know this. The players make millions, the franchises are worth billions.

Carroll on McKissic’s breakout performance: ‘We’ve seen it all along’

But it’s also a game and because of that it’s possible to witness moments of total joy, unadulterated and uncut. Seattle got to witness one of those moments in the third quarter when the Colts defense opened up for J.D. McKissic, who ran 30 yards into the end zone for a regular-season touchdown.

That’s when the emotions took over. See, McKissic had a plan to celebrate his touchdown. It’s part of how he practices finishes a play, and the day before the game he pictured exactly how he would celebrate a score.

“The whole time in the hotel, I was thinking about dancing,” McKissic said.

And when he got to the end zone on Sunday, all that went out the window as he ran toward the crowd to celebrate with the fans.

“So I finally scored, I couldn’t stop,” McKissic said. “I would have ran around the whole stadium.”

Let the record show that McKissic scored on his first regular-season touch as a Seahawk. Kind of like how he scored a touchdown the first time he touched the ball for the Falcons in the preseason last year as an undrafted rookie.

Beginning to notice a trend? McKissic talked about how he has made the most of his opportunities in the Seahawks Spotlight on “Danny, Dave and Moore.” He also explained what his teammates think of the bright red Kia Rio that he’s driving around. Don’t worry, it’s a rental, because remember, football is a business, too.
