Doug Baldwin is day-to-day with a groin injury, but the Seahawks’ veteran wide receiver is expecting to play Sunday night against the Indianapolis Colts, Pete Carroll told reporters Wednesday. The team may not have an update on his status until the end of the week.

“We’ll wait really until Friday to see how he does, and he’s planning on playing,” Carroll said.

While Seattle also received good news on left tackle Rees Odhiambo (ankle), who is expected to play Sunday, there is uncertainty in the running back group, where running back C.J. Prosise has a “significant” ankle injury.

“He’s got an ankle we’re concerned about,” Carroll said, adding that the Seahawks staff would evaluate Prosise over the next several days. His status for Week 4 is uncertain.

Carroll confirmed Prosise was injured on a play late in the fourth quarter Sunday while hauling in a toss from Russell Wilson. Prosise finished with four rushes for nine yards and three catches for 65 yards. J.D. McKissic will likely fill the third-down back role should Prosise not be able to play.

“(McKissic) as a running back has been able to do all of those things,” Carroll said. “He’s got a real wide breadth of ability and he’s looked really good when we’ve used him. So, if C.J. isn’t able to go, we’ll see more of him.”

Outside of injury news, Carroll confirmed that lineman Oday Aboushi – who made his first start last Sunday in Tennessee – will continue to start at right guard this week.

“He brought a communication level that I thought helped Germain (Ifedi),” Carroll said of Aboushi’s play.
