For the first time in two seasons, the Seahawks will play a home playoff game.

The Detroit Lions will travel next Saturday to CenturyLink Field to play Seattle in a 5:15 p.m. NFC wild-card round playoff matchup. Detroit lost to Green Bay 31-17 on Sunday night, leaving the Lions with the sixth and final spot from the conference in the postseason.

Earlier in the day, the Seahawks were locked into the third seed by virtue of their 25-23 win over San Francisco and Atlanta’s 38-32 win over New Orleans on Sunday. That clinched the second seed for the Falcons, giving them the bye next weekend that Seattle was after.

The Packers took the fourth seed after beating Detroit and will host the No. 5 seed New York Giants next weekend in the other NFC wild-card game.

If Seattle beats the Lions, they will travel the following weekend to Atlanta for the divisional round, while the winner of the Green Bay-New York game will go to top-seeded Dallas. If Detroit wins, however, it will draw Dallas, while either the Packers or Giants will face Atlanta.

The Seahawks will take on a very familiar face when they battle the Lions – wide receiver Golden Tate, who was a second-round draft pick by Seattle in 2010 and a key member of its Super Bowl-winning team in 2013. He left for Detroit in free agency the following offseason, and he has established himself as the Lions’ top receiver this year after the retirement of Calvin Johnson.
