The Seattle Seahawks signed rookie defensive tackle Deven Eastern off their practice squad to their 53-man roster ahead of Sunday’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

To make room on their 53-man roster, the Seahawks released running back Velus Jones Jr. and then re-signed him to their practice squad.

Seattle also elevated offensive tackle Bobby Hart and wide receiver Montorie Foster Jr. off its practice squad for Sunday’s game.

Eastern, a seventh-round draft pick, gives the Seahawks depth at defensive tackle with Leonard Williams and Brandon Pili both ruled out with injuries. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound Eastern was a three-year college starter at Minnesota, where he was an All-Big Ten honorable mention in 2025. This is his first elevation from the practice squad.

Hart will serve as Seattle’s backup offensive tackle for the second straight week, with swing tackle Josh Jones getting the start at left tackle in place of injured Charles Cross.

Foster adds depth at wide receiver behind Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Tory Horton and Cooper Kupp with Rashid Shaheed ruled out with an injury.

The Seahawks didn’t sign or elevate quarterback Adrian Martinez off their practice squad, which means backup Drew Lock and third-stringer Jalen Milroe will be their two quarterbacks on Sunday. Starting quarterback Sam Darnold will miss Sunday’s game with a quad injury.
