The Seattle Seahawks are signing tight end Josiah Deguara to their practice squad, according a report from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler on Monday morning.
O-line regression a key part of Seahawks’ offensive woes
Deguara, 29, was a third-round pick by the Green Bay Packers out of the University of Cincinnati in 2020. He has appeared in 78 games and hauled in 53 receptions for 471 yards and three TDs over seven pro seasons with the Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Arizona Cardinals and Philadelphia Eagles. Deguara, who has logged 993 career snaps on special teams, also has 14 career tackles.
Deguara appeared in one game for the Eagles this season, logging 21 snaps on special teams in a Week 4 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. He was released from Philadelphia’s practice squad last Tuesday.
The signing of Deguara comes after tight end Elijah Arroyo exited Seattle’s 17-14 loss to the Denver Broncos on Thursday in the first half with a shoulder injury. Head coach Mike Macdonald told reporters at his Friday press conference Arroyo was having imaging done but there was no update as of that time.
Update: Elijah Arroyo expected to go on IR
