Kraken place veteran defenseman on injured reserve
Ryan Lindgren will miss four-to-six weeks with an upper-body injury.

The Seattle Kraken on Thursday announced defenseman Ryan Lindgren was placed on injured reserve with an upper-body injury that will keep him out for four-to-six weeks.

Lindgren appeared to be injured when he was hit from behind by Vegas Golden Knights forward Marc Gatcomb just 15 seconds into the Kraken’s 6-2 loss on Tuesday night.
Lindgren, 28, is in the second year of a four-year, $18 million deal he signed with the Kraken before last season. The left-shot defenseman hadn’t registered a point and had four blocks and one hit over Seattle’s first four games this season.
In 76 games last season, Lindgren had two goals and seven assists. He also had 119 blocks and 47 hits.
Lindgren has appeared in 485 career games over nine seasons with the New York Rangers, Colorado Avalanche and Kraken. He 16 goals and 95 assists.
Seattle is 2-2-0 through its first four games this season. It next plays 4 p.m. Friday at the Detroit Red Wings.
