The Seattle Seahawks will host free-agent running back Joe Mixon for a visit, according to a report from Jay Glazer during FOX’s NFL pregame show Sunday morning.

The report comes just one day after Seattle placed rookie running back and 2026 first-round pick Jadarian Price on the injured reserve with a chest injury, meaning the Notre Dame product will miss at least the next four games.

Running back Zach Charbonnet, who suffered a torn ACL in January, returned to practice Thursday. He is eligible to return to game action next week, but Seattle has until the week of its Oct. 25 matchup against Kansas City to activate Charbonnet.

Emanuel Wilson, George Holani and Velus Jones Jr. are the three running backs currently on the Seahawks’ 53-man roster.

Mixon, 30, is a two-time Pro Bowler who has rushed for over 1,000 yards in five of his eight pro seasons. However, he hasn’t played a snap since the 2024 playoffs with the Houston Texans.

An Oklahoma product, Mixon suffered a mysterious foot injury prior to training camp in 2025 while away from the team. The Texans remained quiet about Mixon’s injury and never officially declared him out for the season, but he never suited up for a game last year.

Mixon requested his release from Houston a day before he was cut on March 6, according to an ESPN report.

Prior to the injury, Mixon had put together a strong first season for Houston in 2024, amassing 1,325 yards from scrimmage and 12 total TDs over 14 games on his way to Pro Bowl honors.

Mixon spent his first seven seasons with the Cincinnati Bengals, which included producing 1,519 yards from scrimmage and 16 TDs during a Pro Bowl season in 2021. He has rushed for 7,428 yards and 60 TDs in 111 career games.
