Mariners Roster Moves: Robles, Milner return; OF DFA’d

The Seattle Mariners reinstated outfielder Victor Robles and reliever Hoby Milner from the family medical emergency list on Tuesday.

In corresponding moves, outfielder Stuart Fairchild was designated for assignment and reliever Troy Taylor was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma.

The 29-year-old Robles had been away from the team since Thursday while dealing with a family matter in the Dominican Republic. He’s batting .260 with a .632 OPS, three doubles, two triples and 10 stolen bases in 63 games.

Milner, 35, was placed on the family medical emergency list Friday. He’s made two appearances since signing with Seattle on Sept. 1, allowing three runs over 1 1/3 innings. He has a 4.14 ERA and 1.21 WHIP with 19 strikeouts and nine walks over 37 innings in 40 total appearances with the Mariners and Chicago Cubs this season.

Fairchild, a Seattle native, did not appear in a game after having his contract selected when Robles left the team. He made one appearance for the M’s earlier this season as a pinch-runner and scored a run. The 30 year old is a career .221 hitter with a .686 OPS and 18 homers over 292 games in parts of five seasons with the Mariners, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, Atlanta Braves and Cleveland Guardians.

The 24-year-old Taylor, who was called up last Friday, has not pitched in an MLB game since May 2025. He has a 4.99 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with 60 strikeouts to 35 walks over 52 1/3 innings pitched in 50 games at Triple-A this year.

The Mariners begin a three-game series against the Texas Rangers on Tuesday at 6:40 p.m. Radio coverage on Seattle Sports 710 AM and the Seattle Sports app begins with the pregame show at 5:30 p.m.
