Seahawks place rookie D-lineman on PUP list

The Seattle Seahawks placed rookie defensive tackle Deven Eastern on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list with an unspecified injury Saturday.

The Seattle Times’ Bob Condotta on social media noted that Eastern missed much of OTAs and minicamp with an unspecified injury.

Eastern will be eligible to return at any point during training camp, which begins July 25. If he remains on the PUP list when final roster cutdowns are made, he must be placed on the reserve PUP list and miss the team’s first four games of the regular season, be released, be traded or be counted against the 53-man roster.

Eastern, 23, was a seventh-round pick of the University of Minnesota in the 2026 NFL Draft. The 6-foot-5, 320-pound defensive tackle totaled 12 tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in 45 games over four seasons at Minnesota, including five tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks and a forced fumble in 13 games last season.

Eastern already figured to have a tough path to making the Seahawks’ 53-man roster this season in an interior defensive line group that includes the likes of Leonard Williams, Byron Murphy II, Jarran Reed, Rylie Mills and Brandon Pili.
