Brock sees similarities to RB legend in Seahawks’ Jadarian Price

The Seattle Seahawks made it through their rookie minicamp over the weekend, which allowed for the first look at first-round running back Jadarian Price in the blue and Action Green.

When it comes to other running backs that can serve as comparisons for the Notre Dame product, two names are standing out, as Seattle Sports’ Brock Huard detailed on Monday’s Brock and Salk.

The first name is one that Huard keeps hearing.

“The popular name has been Nick Chubb,” said Huard, a longtime FOX football analyst and former NFL quarterback.

Chubb, who played for the Houston Texans last season and had four years of at least 1,000 rushing yards with Cleveland, is listed at 5 foot 11 and 227 pounds, whereas Price is 5-11 and 209 pounds. In addition to being around the same size, the two had similar performances in the NFL combine.

While Huard said he gets that comparison, he personally sees a lot in common between Price and a former three-time Pro Bowl running back for the New York Giants, Tiki Barber.

“Just watching him move, I kind of felt some Tiki Barber. … The feet, the movement, the power,” Huard said of Price. “You see where that drive and the breaking tackles and the short area movement and quickness, (Price, Barber and Chubb) are all similar in that way.”

There’s one thing that Price and Barber have in common that’s actually an area for improvement, though.

“Tiki had some fumbling issues, and this kid’s had some fumbling issues. And I was watching and they were already working, man – that ball is high and tight, right? And remember, Tiki almost over-exaggerated it. It was like almost like locked in across his body. He had to because he had that turnover issue.”

Barber had nine fumbles in a season three times, another season where he had eight, and another two where he had five. As for Price, he had three fumbles in 12 games in 2025, and four of his five career fumbles in three seasons with the Fighting Irish were lost.

If Price can take care of those ball security concerns, though, Huard feels good about what the Seahawks have in their new running back.

“Jadarian, somewhat of a mix of Tiki and Nick Chubb – I think you would take that with a 32nd pick in the draft,” he said.
