Brock: 3 Seahawks who can make a jump this offseason

With one of the youngest rosters in the NFL, the Seattle Seahawks saw a slew of young talent contribute to their 2025 Super Bowl-winning campaign. But even so, they still have more potential breakout talent waiting in the wings.

During Thursday’s Blue 88 segment on Seattle Sports’ Brock and Salk, former NFL quarterback Brock Huard highlighted three young Seahawks who could make a significant jump this offseason heading into 2026.

TE Elijah Arroyo

Arroyo, a 2025 second-round draft pick out of Miami, totaled 15 catches for 179 yards and a touchdown in 13 games as a rookie this past season before landing on injured reserve with a knee injury. He missed Seattle’s final four regular-season games and first two playoff games before returning to play 19 offensive snaps in the Super Bowl.

With impressive speed and athleticism for his 6-foot-5, 254-pound frame, Arroyo showed flashes of his tantalizing field-stretching potential last fall. He had four receptions of 20-plus yards, which was fourth on the team behind NFL receiving leader Jaxon Smith-Njigba (27), wideout Cooper Kupp (8) and running back Kenneth Walker III (5).

With a return to health, Arroyo is a prime candidate for a second-year breakout.

“He got banged up and it just never got put together the way I think he envisioned it could,” Huard said. “And he’s got too much skill, so I bet you we’re going to hear about him. You’re going to see him at OTAs and into training camp, like, whoa, Arroyo is moving, he is going, he wants a bigger piece of the action. I think he really develops.”

G Bryce Cabeldue

Cabeldue, a 2025 sixth-round draft pick and former four-year starting offensive tackle at Kansas, spent his rookie season as one of Seattle’s backup offensive guards. The 6-foot-4, 308-pound Cabeldue totaled 24 offensive snaps and 32 special teams snaps across eight games.

Huard thinks Cabeldue can challenge Seahawks starting right guard Anthony Bradford this offseason.

“That guy showed flashes last year in the preseason and he’s just got a lot of game,” Huard said. “He’s got a lot of game to him. And if they draft an interior offensive lineman in the first three rounds, maybe I’ll change my opinion. But I think he’s going to push Bradford a whole lot more than he did a year ago.”

EDGE Connor O’Toole

The Seahawks have a trio of former undrafted edge rushers who could take on bigger roles this season: Connor O’Toole, 6-foot-6, 274-pound Jared Ivey and 2024 preseason standout Jamie Sheriff. Of those three, Huard thinks O’Toole has the best shot.

O’Toole has an interesting background, as he spent his freshman season at Utah as a wide receiver before switching to edge rusher for his final three seasons. Despite dealing with multiple injuries, he still managed to record 7.0 sacks, 11 tackles for loss, two forced fumbles, three pass breakups and two blocked field goals over his final two seasons with the Utes in 2023 and 2024.

As a rookie with Seattle in 2025, the 6-foot-3, 248-pound O’Toole made five special teams tackles in eight games. He also logged 28 defensive snaps.

“He’s toolsy. He’s very, very fast,” Huard said. “Ivey’s even got more measurables and tools, but I’m going to land on Connor O’Toole.”
