The Seattle Seahawks seem to be in pretty good shape on the injury front coming out of their thrilling 31-27 NFC Championship win over the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday night.

It also helps that there’s a two-week gap between the conference title games and the Super Bowl on Feb. 8, which provides an opportunity for some extra rest.
During his Monday afternoon press conference, Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said the team will take Tuesday and Wednesday off before returning to the practice field Thursday. Macdonald said the team then plans to fly to the Bay Area on Sunday, which gives them a full week in California ahead of Super Bowl 60 against the New England Patriots in Santa Clara.
Below is a recap of what Macdonald said when asked about the injury statuses of a handful of players.
• Macdonald said starting linebacker Drake Thomas is doing “good” after exiting the NFC title game with a shoulder injury in the second half, but that he doesn’t know what his practice availability will look like this week.
• Macdonald said the team is hopeful that rookie fullback Robbie Ouzts can return for the Super Bowl, but that his neck injury needs to “calm down.” Ouzts was inactive for the NFC title game after being listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report.
“It’s gotta calm down, so we can have a better feel for how it’s gonna look,” Macdonald said. “But I’m not sure what his practice status is gonna be this week. I’m not sure.”
• Macdonald said the team is still working through the status of fullback/key special teamer Brady Russell, who exited the NFC title with a hand injury in the second half.
“He’s got a hand right now, so we’ll just kind of work through it on what the timing is and what we need to do,” Macdonald said.
• Macdonald said left tackle Charles Cross is “good” after starting and playing all 67 snaps in the NFC title game. He exited Seattle’s Jan. 17 divisional round game with a foot injury and was sidelined for the first two practices last week before being listed as a full participant in last Friday’s practice.
“To my knowledge, he’s good,” Macdonald said. “He’s just a little sore.”
• When asked about the upcoming practice plan for quarterback Sam Darnold, Macdonald said he’s not sure yet how many reps he’ll take over the next two weeks. Darnold has been playing through an oblique injury that he suffered during a Jan. 15 practice. He was limited during practice last week.
“I don’t know what the trajectory is with how many reps he’s gonna need or how much he’s gonna want to take,” Macdonald said. “I don’t know that yet.”
