SEATTLE – Left tackle Charles Cross and running back Zach Charbonnet both sustained injuries during the Seattle Seahawks’ 41-6 rout of the San Francisco 49ers in Saturday night’s NFC Divisional Round playoff game.

Here’s what Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald said about both players during his postgame press conference.

• Cross exited with a foot injury in the third quarter. Macdonald said it was more of a precautionary measure, with the Seahawks already up big at that point.

Cross started Saturday night after missing the final three games of the regular season with a hamstring injury. The fourth-year left tackle also hurt his knee in practice this week.

“Charles was really out of caution,” Macdonald said. “We were in a position where we didn’t need him to come back. But still, we’re gonna have to work through it with his foot, so I don’t have an indication on what that’s gonna look like.”

Cross was replaced at left tackle by undrafted rookie Amari Kight. Backup left tackle Josh Jones, who started the final three regular-season games in place of Cross, was ruled out Thursday due to a knee injury.

• Charbonnet injured his knee on a run toward the sideline late in the second quarter. Macdonald said he’s “optimistic” about his status.

“Optimistic with Charbs,” Macdonald said. “We’ve gotta get it imaged and stuff, but early indications are hopefully it’s OK structurally. But you never know with these things.”

Charbonnet has complemented top running back Kenneth Walker III as a one-two punch in Seattle’s backfield. With Charbonnet out for most of the night, Walker ran for 116 yards and three touchdowns on 19 carries. Velus Jones Jr., who was elevated from the practice squad, added 10 yards on six carries.
