Wyman: Solving Seahawks’ problems defending screen plays

Screen plays have long been a weak spot in the Seahawks’ defense, and that’s continued to be the case this season.

Why Seahawks’ running game is especially critical now

Seattle has given up multiple long gains this season to screen passes by opposing offenses, particularly in losses to the Minnesota Vikings in Week 3 and the Los Angeles Rams last Thursday. But it’s not all bad news when it comes to the Seahawks’ defense and screen plays.

In this week’s Football 101 video from former Seahawks linebacker Dave Wyman, he puts three plays under the microscope – one from the Vikings game and two from the Rams game. While the first two plays Wyman breaks down went exactly the way the Vikings and Rams wanted them to, the third was a different story.
