First baseman Adam Lind drove in four clutch runs in Saturday night’s 9-7 loss against Los Angeles, but Dae-Ho Lee gets the starting nod Sunday against Angels’ lefty Hector Santiago.

Lee has been much better as a starter than coming off the bench thus far this season, batting .308, with six runs, four home runs, seven RBI, three walks and a .987 OPS in 13 starts this season. In his last 7 starts, he’s hitting .346, three home runs. As a substitute, he’s hitting .100 (1 for 10).

The Mariners, as a whole, have been successful against lefties, winning each of their last five games started by opposing left-handers. Since the start of 2015, Kyle Sager (16) and Robinson Canó (12) rank first and second in the Majors in home runs by left-handed hitters against left-handed pitchers.

Switch-hitting Shawn O’Malley, who was recalled from AAA Tacoma before the game, will get the start in centerfield.

The game is set for 1:10 on 710 ESPN Seattle. The pregame show starts at noon.
