The Seahawks made a number of moves ahead of Tuesday’s practice.
Moore: What should the Seahawks do now with C.J. Prosise?
Here is each transaction:
• Wide receiver Amara Darboh waived
• Defensive tackle Nazair Jones placed on injured reserve
• Cornerback Kalan Reed placed on injured reserve
• Signed wide receiver Nyqwan Murray
• Signed wide receiver Kahlil Lewis
This is the second time in the last two seasons that the Seahawks have waived Darboh, who they selected in the third round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Michigan. He was claimed by New England last year but returned to Seattle after he failed a physical and spent all of 2018 on the IR. He played 16 games as a rookie in 2017 (no starts), making eight receptions for 71 yards.
Jones, another third-round selection of Seattle from 2017, has been out of action due to a knee injury.
Reed, a seventh-round pick of Tennessee in 2016, has been competing for the Seahawks’ nickel cornerback job with Akeem King, Jamar Taylor and Ugo Amadi but is set to see a specialist for a neck injury that kept him out of last weekend’s preseason win over the Los Angeles Chargers.
Murray returns to the Seahawks after taking part in the team’s rookie minicamp and part of training camp. He is an undrafted rookie who had 54 catches for 744 yards and three touchdowns at Florida State in 2018.
Lewis is also an undrafted rookie who was waived by Atlanta last week. He was the leading receiver for Cincinnati in each of his last three college season.
