The Seahawks have reportedly signed ex-49ers cornerback Dontae Johnson, according to NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo.
What should the Seahawks do at kicker?
Johnson, 26, started all 16 games for San Fransisco last year. He had 68 tackles, seven passes defended, and one interception. The North Carolina State alum was originally drafted by the Niners in the fourth round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
Johnson joins a Seahawks’ defensive backfield that enters 2018 without its longtime starter, cornerback Richard Sherman (now, coincidentally, with the 49ers). Also at cornerback Shaquill Griffin, Justin Coleman, Neiko Thorpe, DeAndre Elliott, and Michael Tyson. Of note, Seattle hasn’t yet re-signed free agent veteran cornerback Byron Maxwell.
