When the Seahawks and Chargers face off in a Week 7 clash of first-place teams, they’ll have star veteran receivers to look to on offense.
Bumpus: Why Diggs is so important for Seahawks vs Herbert, Chargers
That’s because Tyler Lockett is active for the Seahawks while Keenan Allen is active for the Chargers.
Lockett, who has 423 yards this year and two touchdowns, was questionable to play due to a hamstring injury that kept him out of practice all week.
Allen, meanwhile, is a five-time Pro Bowler who has been out of action since Week 1 due to a hamstring injury. Allen returning gives L.A. quarterback Justin Herbert a top weapon back at his disposal, as well as one of the top receiving duos in the NFL between Allen and Mike Williams.
Rounding out Seattle’s inactives list are cornerback Sidney Jones IV (groin), receiver Penny Hart (hamstring), cornerback Artie Burns (groin), safety Teez Tabor (healthy scratch) and starting right guard Gabe Jackson (knee/hip). With Jackson down, Phil Haynes is expected to start again for the Seahawks,

The Seahawks will also have an old friend back in the mix this Sunday in Los Angeles as linebacker/edge rusher Bruce Irvin was one of two players elevated from Seattle’s practice squad ahead of Week 7 along with cornerback Xavier Crawford.
Irvin, 34, was the Hawks’ first-round pick in 2012 out of West Virginia and was a key contributor as a rookie as well as when the Seahawks went to back-to-back Super Bowls in 2013 and 2014. Irvin left Seattle in free agency after the 2015 season and returned in 2020, but tore his ACL in Week 2 that year. He returned to the organization recently, joining the practice squad. He did not play last week against the Arizona Cardinals.
