The Seahawks opened the year with a very conservative offense, as evidenced by quarterback Geno Smith’s high completion percentage rate and low yards total.
Seahawks RB Rashaad Penny out for season, Pete Carroll confirms
But after a Week 2 loss to San Francisco, the Seahawks opened the offense up, and since then, Smith has been fantastic. That was again the case this Sunday in New Orleans, when Smith had three touchdowns and 268 passing yards against the Saints. Week 5 was Smith’s lowest completion percentage of the year, but he still completed 64% of his passes in the 39-32 loss.
In his latest video breakdown for Seattle Sports 710 AM’s YouTube channel, former NFL receiver Michael Bumpus breaks down what he saw from the Hawks’ offense in the Week 5 loss in New Orleans, and shares what’s changed from the start of the season to now with both Smith and the offense as a whole.
Bumpus hosts Bump and Stacy on Seattle Sports 710 AM every weekday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with Stacy Rost, and Bump is also the host of Seahawks pregame, halftime and postgame shows. Every Seahawks game can be heard on the Seahawks Radio Network, which includes Seattle Sports 710 AM as well as KIRO Newsradio 97.3 FM.
The Hawks will look to rebound from their Week 5 loss and get back to .500 when they host the Arizona Cardinals in a clash between two 2-3 NFC West rivals.
