For the fourth consecutive year, former Seahawks defensive tackle Cortez Kennedy is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The 15 finalists and two senior nominees were announced this morning, and the Class of 2012 will be chosen by the Hall of Fame selection committee on Saturday, Feb. 5, the day before the Super Bowl.

A member of the Seahawks’ Ring of Honor, Kennedy was voted to the Pro Bowl eight times during his 11-year career with the Seahawks (1990-2000) and was selected to the NFL team of the decade in the 1990s. Kennedy was voted NFL defensive player of the year in 1992 after registering 14 sacks, 93 tackles and four forced fumbles.

A Facebook page was created to help promote Kennedy’s campaign for the 2012 Pro Football Hall of Fame this season — Cortez Kennedy for Hall of Fame — and already has over 3,769 “likes”.
