Seahawks safety Earl Thomas is encouraging the team he helped lead to its only Super Bowl championship to either extend his contract or trade him.
Thomas captioned an Instagram photo of him working out: “Always been the underdog ain’t nothing new . Extend …..if you don’t want me let’s make a trade happen I understand it’s a bizz [praying emoji, football emjoi, voice bubble] 29 LAVIBES.”
The not-so-cryptic message comes as Thomas enters the end of his four-year $40 million extension.
Rumors of an Earl Thomas trade have continued to swirl since the safety yelled into the Cowboys’ locker room “If y’all have the chance, come get me,” contract comments he made ahead of the Pro Bowl, and the turnover the Seahawks have seen.
Thomas is currently the sixth highest paid safety in the league (more on his contract situation here).
