RENTON — Earl Thomas sat out the Seahawks’ practices both Wednesday and Thursday, held out because of a knee injury.

Defensive coordinator Kris Richard was asked if he was worried about the possibility Thomas wouldn’t be available for Sunday’s game against the Indianapolis Colts.

Seahawks’ Week 4 injury updates

“Here’s the one thing that I know about Earl,” Richard said. “As long as he doesn’t have any broken bones and he can breathe, he can play. Right now, it’s not a concern. He’s still preparing as if he’s going to play and we fully expect him to.”

Thomas was chosen in the first round of the 2010 draft with the No. 14 overall pick. He started 107 consecutive regular-season games to begin his NFL career, a streak that ended last season when he missed a game at Tampa Bay last November. Thomas returned to the lineup the following week only to suffer a broken leg that ended his season.

Thomas’ string of 107 straight starts was the second longest in franchise history. Guard Chris Gray started 121 consecutive games for the Seahawks from 1999 to 2006.

Cornerback Richard Sherman has started 93 consecutive regular-season games, which is the longest active streak on the Seahawks.
