The 2021 MLB Draft officially wrapped up Tuesday morning, and the Mariners have 20 players to try to sign one year after the event was limited to six rounds due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Three Takes: Mariners’ biggest question for the second half
Seattle got things going Sunday with the 12th overall pick, where they selected athletic catcher Harry Ford.
We’ve got every Mariners pick from the three-day event covered here in this tracker post, from Sunday’s first round to Rounds 2-10 on Monday and Rounds 11-20 on Tuesday.

From 710Sports.com writer Brandon Gustafson’s MLB Draft preview: “Harry Ford can make the case that he’s the best athlete in this draft class. And right now, he’s a catcher. That’s right. Ford, MLB Pipeline’s No. 13 prospect, is an elite athlete at 5-10 and 200 pounds who is a plus (60) runner with 55 grades for his arm and glove, making him a very intriguing catching prospect. … Ford’s athleticism jumps off the page, and he could handle other spots across the diamond, but Pipeline reports that Ford receives high marks behind the plate for his receiving as well as his arm, which could get even better as his mechanics and footwork improve. But still, Ford’s athleticism and speed along with his strong arm make it easy to see that he could probably make the transition from catcher to the outfield or maybe even an infield spot, which is an area that the Mariners don’t have much high-end depth in the farm.”
Monday
• Second round (48): Edwin Arroyo, SS, Central Pointe Christian Academy (Fla.)
Baseball America’s Carlos Collazo called Arroyo “one of the better defensive shortstops in this class,” adding that he’s actually an ambidextrous thrower. “Curious to see how the bat develops. Switch hitter with some barrel control,” Collazo continued. The 6-foot, 175-pound Arroyo is the top-rated prospect out of Puerto Rico, according to Perfect Game.
• Third round (83): Michael Morales, P, Pennsboro High School (Pa.)
From Brandon Gustafson: “6-2, 205. Vandy commit with 55 grades for his fastball and curve and command and an average grade for the changeup. Sounds like he’s more of a command and finesse guy, but the Mariners have had success with guys like that in terms of having their stuff tick up. George Kirby and Taylor Dollard are two recent examples.”
• Fourth round (113): Bryce Miller, P, Texas A&M
From Brandon Gustafson: “Big-time fastball and a solid slider with average curves and changeups. Needs to improve control in order to stick as a starter. Was originally a reliever in college. High-tempo delivery and arm.”

• Fifth round (144): Andy Thomas, C, Baylor
From Brandon Gustafson: “6-2, 210 and was third-team All-America this year. Career .327 hitter in college and had 11 home runs his final year. Threw out 17-32 runners. Solid floor guy in round 5.”
