Storm sign UW product to training camp contract

The Seattle Storm signed UW Huskies sharpshooter Elle Ladine to a training camp contract, the team announced Wednesday.

Ladine, who went undrafted following her senior season with the Huskies, was among five players signed to training camp deals by the Storm. The team also signed forward Rennia Davis, forward Beatrice Mompremier, guard/forward Jaelyn Brown and guard Jalyn Brown.

A San Francisco native, Ladine spent four seasons at UW and helped the team reach the NCAA Tournament the past two years. She’s eighth in program history with 166 made 3-pointers.

Ladine’s best season came as a junior in 2024-25. The 5-foot-11 guard led UW with a career-high 17.0 points per game while posting a career-best 39.3% clip from 3-point range. She added 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists and 1.1 steals per contest over 33 games.

Ladine missed the first six games this past season with a lower-body injury. After returning, she averaged 9.9 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.1 assists while shooting 39.6% from the field and 31.5% from beyond the arc in 27 games.

Davis, a first-round pick out of Tennessee in 2021, has played eight career WNBA games, all in 2022 during stints with the Minnesota Lynx and Indiana Fever. She averaged 1.3 points. The 6-foot-1 forward played for Nesibe Aydin in Turkey during the offseason where she averaged a team-high 20.8 points and 11.8 rebounds per game.

Mompremier, a second-round pick out of Miami in 2020, appeared in 74 games in three seasons from 2020-22 with the Connecticut Sun and Atlanta Dream. She averaged 2.0 points and 2.8 rebounds per game. The 6-foot-4 forward played for Xinjiang Magic Deer in China during the offseason, averaging a team-best 15.8 points and adding 10.0 rebounds per game.

Jaelyn Brown, a Cal product, is averaging 3.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 24 career WNBA games over two seasons with the Dallas Wings and Connecticut. She averaged 12.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.3 assists while paying professionally in Greece over the offseason.

Jaylen Brown averaged 11.1 points and shot 51.9% from the field and 41.3% from 3-point range for Michigan State this past season. The 6-foot guard began her college career at Louisville and spent the next two seasons at Arizona State before landing at Michigan State. She led Arizona State in scoring in both seasons with the team, including a career-high 18.0 points per game as a junior in 2024-25.

The Storm begin practice on Sunday and player their season opener May 8.
