Tri-Cities native Tyler Bilodeau selected by Nets in NBA Draft

Tri-Cities native Tyler Bilodeau, who starred at Kamiakin High School in Kennewick, was selected by the Brooklyn Nets with the No. 43 overall pick in the second round of the NBA Draft on Wednesday night.

Bilodeau, a 6-foot-9, 235-pound forward, is coming off an accomplished four-year college career split between Oregon State and UCLA.

Bilodeau led UCLA with 17.6 points per game this past season and was one of the nation’s best 3-point shooters, posting a Big Ten-best 46.4% clip from beyond the arc. He also led the Bruins in scoring in 2024-25, averaging 13.5 points per game while shooting 40% from 3-point range.

Prior to that, Bilodeau spent his first two college seasons at Oregon State, where he averaged 14.3 points per game as a sophomore in 2023-24.

As a senior at Kamiakin, Bilodeau was named the 2021-22 Gatorade Boys Basketball Player of the Year for the state of Washington. He averaged 22.7 points and 10.3 rebounds per game that season while leading Kamiakin to a fourth-place trophy at the Class 4A state tournament.

Bilodeau comes from a talented family of athletes. His mother, Cass Bauer-Bilodeau, played four seasons in the WNBA from 1999-2002. And his father, Brent, was selected by the Montreal Canadiens with the No. 17 overall pick in the 1991 NHL Draft.
