The Seattle Kraken will have a new and unique look this season thanks to a third jersey the team revealed Thursday morning.

New coach Lane Lambert expects to lead Seattle Kraken to playoffs

The Kraken have added an all-black uniform that features the glow of “bioluminescence,” particularly with the jersey.

The jersey features:

• A “stealth-mode” crest of the primary “S” Kraken logo with black-on-black stitching and a red eye.

• An Ice Blue “bioluminescent glow” outlining the crest that glows in the dark.

• “Sonar” sleeves of Ice Blue and red stripes.

• A glowing Muckleshoot Indian Tribe patch.

Depending on the lighting, either the Ice Blue or red elements stand out more against the stark black base.

“When we set out to design a third jersey, we wanted to create something a bit more menacing and intense,” Kraken vice president of brand Aaron Wiggan said in a press release. “We drew our inspiration from the eerie shadows of the deep Pacific Northwest waters. The result is the franchise’s first all-black kit that includes an Ice Blue, glow-in-the-dark outline on the crest – a nod to the incredible bioluminescence found in these waters. We’re extremely proud of how it turned out, and we can’t wait to see our players and fans in this new look.”

In addition to Tuesday’s reveal, the Kraken announced the on-ice schedule for the new kit. They will wear the new black jersey for these 12 home games:

• Nov. 1 vs. New York Rangers

• Nov. 5 vs. San Jose Sharks

• Nov. 26 vs. Dallas Stars

• Dec. 4 vs. Edmonton Oilers

• Dec. 8 vs. Minnesota Wild

• Dec. 29 vs. Vancouver Canucks

• Jan. 6 vs. Boston Bruins

• Jan. 23 vs. Anaheim Ducks

• Jan. 25 vs. New Jersey Devils

• March 4 vs. St. Louis Blues

• March 12 vs. Colorado Avalanche

• April 9 vs. Vegas Golden Knights

Sales of the jersey will first be available in a pre-sale for season ticket members at 9 a.m. Friday, followed by a public pre-sale at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 11. On Oct. 5, the new jersey will become available in stores and online.

This is the third time the Kraken have had a third jersey in a season. They wore Ice Blue “Reverse Retro” jerseys as an alternate look during the 2022-23 season, and had a special throwback-inspired look for the 2024 Winter Classic at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park that they also wore a few times later in the season.

The Seattle Kraken will play the first of their six preseason games on Sunday, Sept. 21 at home against Vancouver. The regular season opener will be an Oct. 9 home game against Anaheim. The new third jersey will make its on-ice debut in Seattle’s 11th game of the season.
