The anchor logo, which includes a nod to the iconic Space Needle that is located on the same Seattle Center campus as the Kraken’s home of Climate Pledge Arena, also features details that “draw inspiration from scrimshaw, a centuries-old maritime engraving tradition, giving jersey elements a distinctive etched appearance.”
The custom lettering and numbers take “inspiration from the hand-painted lettering, numbers, and insignia traditionally found on vessels navigating Seattle’s harbors.”
On the sleeve is “sublimated” artwork depicting “the waters of Puget Sound framed by Pacific Northwest mountain ranges, including the unmistakable silhouette of Mount Rainier.”
Finally, Washington’s official state flower, the rhododendron, can be seen “along the jersey’s hemline as a subtle tribute to the region’s natural beauty.”
The Kraken enter the week with an 8-5-1 record for 17 points in the standings, which puts them third in the Pacific Division behind Edmonton (24 points) and Vegas (19 points).
