What they said: Buffalo Bills react after 31-25 loss to Seahawks

Emotions ran high during the Seahawks’ 31-25 win over the Buffalo Bills on Monday Night Football. Here’s what Buffalo players had to say to the media:

Head coach Rex Ryan: “Obviously a tough loss. We’re trying to take that team to deep water and I thought we did. We had too many penalties, too many mistakes. With all that being said, we had a chance to win the game. I thought we should have. We have to regroup.”

RB LeSean McCoy on the field-goal attempt before halftime: “Coming offsides is one thing but to hit the kicker was crazy. I think that should’ve been at least a 15-yard penalty on that. Their team started to go to the locker room and then they came back out. We started to go to the locker room, too, but that was just different. I’ve never seen anything like that before.”

QB Tyrod Taylor on the last play of the game: “We were just trying to get guys in the end zone. Eventually, Robert (Woods) scrambled and we just didn’t come away with it. I think Woods got pushed again, but we just didn’t come away with it.”

DT Jerel Worthy on the Seahawks going away from the run: “I was kind of surprised, being that’s how they want to start most of their drives with positive runs. At the end of the day, Russell (Wilson) was Russell, he did his thing, the ball came out pretty fast, and they kind of took us out the game a little bit. We have to eliminate some penalties on ourselves and just keep fighting, man.”

LB Jerry Hughes on his blocked punt: “We drew up the play earlier this week. I’ve been studying those guys, we know how they were going to open up, I just wanted to make sure that I didn’t hit the punter. The way we’ve been practicing it, to see it actually run well throughout the game, it was pretty amazing.”
