The size of the shakeup in Seattle’s backfield became clear when the Seahawks announced the players who are active for Sunday’s game against Philadelphia.
Not only is Thomas Rawls active for the first time since Week 2, returning from a fractured fibula, but so is Troymaine Pope. Pope is the undrafted rookie who returned to the team two weeks ago and was promoted to the active roster this week after Christine Michael was waived.
Now, Pope is active for the game as the team’s third running back. Alex Collins, the team’s fifth-round pick, is inactive. C.J. Prosise is expected to start for the Seahawks.
The other surprise in Seattle’s active roster is rookie offensive lineman Rees Odhiambo, who is active for only the third game this season. J’Marcus Webb and Bradley Sowell are both inactive for the game.
The other inactive players are S Tyvis Powell, LB Kevin Pierre-Louis, DL Michael Bennett and TE Nick Vannett.
Vannett is inactive as Luke Willson returns to the lineup after missing the past four games because of a knee injury.
The Seahawks are hoping that Bennett could be back in the next couple of games. Like Willson, Bennett underwent an arthroscopic surgery on his knee.
