In a Friday morning post on social media, the Seahawks announced their new Nike “Rivalries” jersey will drop on Aug. 28.

The announcement was accompanied by a teaser video.

The on-field debut of the new Seahawks jersey is set for Dec. 18, a primetime Thursday Night Football home game at Lumen Field against the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams.

Per the official description of the NFL’s Rivalries program, it is meant to “elevate division rivalry games over the next four NFL seasons across communities and on gamedays, with specially designed new uniforms and fan gear to celebrate the occasion – serving as the most competitive, authentic expression of community pride.”

NFL teams will wear their Rivalries uniforms once per season, always in a home game against a division foe.

The Seahawks have more info on their participation in the Rivalries program at this link.

In other Seahawks uniform news, it was announced last week they will wear their popular 1990s-era blue-and-silver throwback combination in Week 5 on the road against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who will also be wearing throwbacks.

There was also a report last month by SportsLogos.net that the Seahawks are set to add a white-and-silver throwback uniform this season. There has been no indication that the reported new throwbacks would serve as the Rivalries uniform.
