SEATTLE – Three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Leonard Williams exited with an ankle injury in the Seattle Seahawks’ 30-23 win over the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday, but head coach Mike Macdonald said it doesn’t appear serious.
“It doesn’t look serious right now, which is positive news,” Macdonald said after the game. “So we’ll see.”

Williams got hurt on a second-and-goal run midway through the fourth quarter. After being examined by trainers, the 12th-year veteran limped off the field on his own power and underwent further evaluation in the medical tent. He then jogged around and went through pass rush drills on the sideline, but didn’t return to the game.
Williams, a Pro Bowler each of the past two seasons, has 3.0 sacks and five tackles for loss through four games this year. He has 21.0 sacks since the start of 2024, the most among all NFL defensive tackles. He signed a three-year, $90 million contract extension in August that made him one of the league’s highest-paid players at his position.
Meanwhile, safety Ty Okada “has a shot” to return for next Sunday’s NFC West showdown against the San Francisco 49ers, Macdonald said. Okada has missed the first four games of the season with a hamstring injury. He returned to practice Thursday and was listed as questionable on Friday’s injury report, but was inactive for Sunday’s game.
