The Seattle Seahawks ruled out rookie running back Jadarian Price with a chest injury for Sunday’s Week 4 matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Price sat out practice Thursday and Friday after reaggravating the injury on Wednesday, head coach Mike Macdonald said. The rookie first-round draft pick initially suffered the injury in the second half of Seattle’s Week 2 rout of the Arizona Cardinals.

Macdonald said he’s unsure how long Price will be sidelined.

With Price out, George Holani and Emanuel Wilson are the Seahawks’ top two options at running back. Seattle also has running backs Velus Jones Jr. and Jacardia Wright on their practice squad.

Zach Charbonnet returned to practice on Thursday as he works back from ACL surgery, but since he began the season on the physically unable to perform list, the earliest he’s eligible to play is Week 5.

Price has rushed for a team-high 119 yards this season, with an average of 4.2 yards per carry. Wilson has added 109 yards at 3.4 yards per carry, while Holani has chipped in 52 yards at 3.5 yards per carry.

“It’s unfortunate with JD,” Macdonald said. “Hopefully this gives him an opportunity to get healthy. But we’ve got guys that are ready to go behind him that are preparing their tails off and are good players. So we feel like we have a good plan.”

Meanwhile, there’s a chance the Seahawks could have their full starting secondary on the field together for the first time this season.

Veteran safety Julian Love (calf) doesn’t have a game status designation, which means he’s set to return after missing Sunday’s loss to Washington. And safety Ty Okada (hamstring) is listed as questionable after missing each of the first three games. Okada returned to practice on Thursday.

Seattle also listed special teams stalwart Chazz Surratt (calf) as questionable.

Chargers injury report

The Chargers listed five-time Pro Bowl safety Derwin James (hamstring) and leading wide receiver Ladd McConkey (foot) as questionable.

Los Angeles also listed cornerback Donte Jackson (concussion), safety Elijah Molden (hamstring) and backup quarterback Trey Lance (groin) as questionable.

The Chargers ruled out tight end Charlie Kolar (forearm), wide receiver Brenen Thompson (quadricep), defensive tackle Dalvin Tomlinson (hamstring) and guard Kayode Awosika (fibula).
