George Holani recovered Seattle’s own kickoff for a touchdown, a crucial play as the Hawks pulled away for a 31-17 victory.
After hitting a go-ahead field goal, Jason Myers kicked off for Seattle inside of 13 minutes left. The ball took a funny bounce over the hands of Steelers returner Kaleb Johnson and skipped on toward the end zone. Johnson didn’t follow the ball, and he should have.
The ball stopped before going out of the back of the end zone, and Seattle’s George Holani slid into it to recover for a rare touchdown on a kickoff.

The score gave the Seahawks a 24-14 advantage with less than 13 minutes left to go.
It was the first career NFL touchdown for Holani, a 25-year-old running back from Boise State. He played five games as an undrafted rookie for Seattle in 2024 and made the team’s initial 53-man roster out of training camp last month.
Holani’s touchdown was the second time the Seahawks took advantage of a Steelers mistake in the end zone on the day. In the third quarter, cornerback Derion Kendrick came up with a pass that tipped off of a Pittsburgh receiver’s fingers to intercept Aaron Rodgers on third-and-goal, keeping the game tied 14-all at that point.

Kenneth Walker III added a 19-yard touchdown run on third-and-goal with less than four minutes to go, and Coby Bryant picked off a late heave on fourth down by Rodgers to seal the win for the Seahawks.
Holani’s touchdown gave Seattle a boost on special teams after Myers doinked a field goal attempt in the second quarter off the uprights.
The Seahawks’ win makes both them and the Steelers 1-1 on the young NFL season.
