The Seattle Seahawks continue to shuffle up their running back room after the loss of Kenny McIntosh.
On Tuesday, the Seahawks announced the signing of undrafted rookie RB Anthony Tyus to their 90-man roster. To make room for Tyus, they waived Donovan “D.K.” Kaufmann, who was signed when McIntosh was placed on injured reserve on July 28 with a torn ACL suffered in training camp.

Tyus was second-team All-MAC as a senior at Ohio in 2024, rushing for 1,125 yards and nine touchdowns for the Bobcats. He also caught 16 passes for 137 yards and a pair of TDs.

It was a breakout season for Tyus, who had rushed for 504 yards and two touchdowns total over three seasons with Northwestern prior to transferring to Ohio.
Tyus, who checks in at 6 foot and 226 pounds, signed as an undrafted free agent with the Detroit Lions. He was released by the Lions on July 17.
The 5-foot-8, 206-pound Kaufmann went undrafted out of North Carolina State and participated in the Seahawks’ rookie minicamp in May. A former college safety who has experience returning kicks, he also had stops in college at Vanderbilt and Auburn.
The injury to McIntosh, which is expected to keep him out for the entire 2025, cost the Seahawks a pass-catching option out of the backfield. The Georgia Bulldogs product had 505 yards on 43 receptions as a senior in 2022.
The Seahawks open preseason play at 7 p.m. Thursday against Las Vegas in the return to Seattle for both new Raiders head coach Pete Carroll and quarterback Geno Smith. Radio coverage on Seattle Sports, KIRO Newsradio and the Seahawks app will begin at 5 with the pregame show.
