Seattle Seahawks outside linebacker Uchenna Nwosu took a pay cut as part of a restructured contract that lowers his 2025 salary cap hit by roughly $9.3 million, according to Over The Cap.

Nwosu had two years and $26.5 million left on his previous deal, which carried a $21.17 million cap hit. He reportedly agreed to a $6.99 million pay cut for 2025, which means he now has two years and $19.51 million left on his contract. His 2025 cap hit falls to $11.85 million.
The 28-year-old Nwosu will receive $6.98 million of guaranteed money in return, including a $4 million signing bonus, according to Over The Cap.
The reworked contract comes after an injury-plagued past two seasons for Nwosu, who has been limited to just six games apiece in 2023 and 2024.
After spending his first four seasons with the Los Angeles Chargers, Nwosu signed with Seattle in 2022 and racked up a career-high 9.5 sacks and 12 tackles for loss in his debut season with the Seahawks.
Nwosu then signed a three-year, $45 million contract extension with Seattle in July 2023, but has totaled just three sacks and five tackles for loss since then while struggling to stay on the field. He missed 11 games in 2023 with a season-ending torn pectoral muscle, the first four games of 2024 with a sprained MCL and then another seven games with a quad strain.
