Former Seahawks Bumpus, Moyer named to PNW Football HOF

Seattle Sports show host Michael Bumpus and Seattle Seahawks Radio Network analyst Paul Moyer are among the six new members set to be inducted into the Pacific Northwest Football Hall of Fame’s class of 2026.

Bumpus, who is also a member of the Seahawks Radio Network as the pre- and post-game host, is being inducted as a college player. Moyer, a regular guest on Seattle Sports’ Wyman and Bob, is being inducted as an associate for his time as a player, coach and media member.

Bumpus was a standout wide receiver and return man during his four seasons with the WSU Cougars. The Culver City, California, native racked up 195 receptions for 2,022 yards and eight TDs, adding 801 yards and three TDs on 80 punt returns.

The highest-rated recruit in WSU history, according to 247sports, Bumpus was a freshman All-American and second-team All-Pac-10 selection as a punt returner in 2004. He holds the program record for career punt returns and previously held the school’s career receptions record.

Bumpus went on to play for the Seattle Seahawks, appearing in four games and recording five receptions for 48 yards and one TD during the 2008 season. He was also the head coach at Monroe High School from 2015-19, guiding the Bearcats to a 36-17 record and two state playoff appearances.

Moyer has spent more than four decades with the Seahawks as player, coach and broadcaster.

An Arizona State grad, Moyer spent all seven of his pro seasons as a defensive back with the Seahawks from 1983-89. He had 11 interceptions, eight fumble recoveries, 4.0 sacks and three forced fumbles during his playing career, including a six-interception campaign in 1988. He was a member of Seattle’s team that reached the AFC Championship in 1983.

The Villa Park, California, native was also Seattle’s secondary coach from 1990-94.

Bumpus and Moyer will be inducted alongside former Seahawks defensive linemen Jeff Bryant and Joe Nash, former UW Huskies quarterback Hugh Millen and former pro and college head coach Don Coryell, a Seattle native and Pro Football Hall of Famer who was the first coach to win more than 100 games at the college and pro levels.

The induction ceremony will be held Thursday, Feb. 12, at 4 p.m. at Husky Stadium. Tickets for the event can be found here.
