Seattle Seahawks star wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba was listed as limited with an ankle injury on Monday’s practice report.

The Seahawks didn’t practice Monday, so their report was an estimation of what players would have done in a full practice. It was the first of three reports Seattle is required to release ahead of Thursday night’s Week 6 clash against the Denver Broncos.

Smith-Njigba hurt his ankle during Seattle’s 32-29 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. The reigning AP NFL Offensive Player of the Year finished with five catches for 102 yards and a touchdown, but dropped a deep third-down pass during the Seahawks’ final drive.

This is the first time Smith-Njigba has been listed on the injury report this season, excluding rest days. He leads the NFL with 583 receiving yards and seven touchdown catches this season.

Linebacker Drake Thomas (ankle) and special teams stalwart Chazz Surratt (calf) were both listed as non-participants. Thomas got injured late in the first half on Sunday and was listed as questionable before returning after halftime. Surratt has missed the past two games.

Three-time Pro Bowl defensive tackle Leonard Williams (ankle), running back Zach Charbonnet (knee), right guard Beau Stephens (shoulder) and backup quarterback Drew Lock (right forearm) were each listed as limited.

Williams suffered an ankle injury in Week 4, but played 44 of 60 defensive snaps on Sunday.

Head coach Mike Macdonald reiterated Monday that Charbonnet is unlikely to make his season debut on Thursday night.

Charbonnet returned to practice on Oct. 1 for the first time since undergoing February surgery to repair a torn ACL. He has been listed as limited on all six practice reports since then. He was eligible to be activated off the physically unable to perform list for Sunday’s NFC West showdown against the 49ers, but Macdonald ruled him out early last week.

The Seahawks have until Oct. 22 to place Charbonnet on their 53-man roster, or else he must remain on the PUP list for the rest of the season. After facing Denver on Thursday night, Seattle’s next game is against the Kansas City Chiefs on Oct. 25.

“We have to have consensus from all parties that he’s ready to go – that he’s the most confident and he’s had enough exposure to go play an NFL game,” Macdonald said Monday. “So those are the variables at play here.

“And one area of that equation, can that adjust as we go? Yeah. But we’re trying to do right by the process right now.”
