While the early season losses have been alarming for the Seahawks, it was their opponent, the Carolina Panthers, that received an earlier than expected wake-up-call Sunday morning, after a fire alarm was pulled at the team’s hotel in Seattle.

According to ESPN, a Panthers team statement said alarms were pulled at approximately 5:40 a.m., only on the two floors that Panthers players were staying on. Multiple Carolina players tweeted their dismay, including backup quarterback Derek Anderson, who reportedly tweeted “Just happened to be our floors only.. Guess that’s just by chance lol.”

ESPN reported that Panthers spokesperson Steven Drummond said “Obviously, this is an issue that directly affects our club. We will let the hotel and the league investigate.”

The manager at the hotel told ESPN that an “investigation is still ongoing.”
