TAMPA – Another day, another member of the Seahawks’ secondary ruled out.
DeShawn Shead is inactive for Sunday’s game in Tampa Bay because of a strained hamstring. Free safety Earl Thomas was already ruled out on Friday.
Jeremy Lane will start in Shead’s place with Neiko Thorpe entering the game when Seattle uses its nickel defense.
Steven Terrell will start at free safety in place of Thomas, the first game Thomas has missed in his NFL career.
Linebacker Brock Coyle was also ruled out with a foot injury, and while the Seahawks didn’t announce a starter, Kevin Pierre-Louis is back from a hamstring injury and expected to be available.
Center Justin Britt is active for the game after sitting out practice this week with an ankle injury. However, he’ll be the backup to rookie Joey Hunt, which general manager John Schneider confirmed on the pregame show on 710 ESPN Seattle.
Other inactives for Seattle: RB C.J. Prosise (shoulder blade), RB Troymaine Pope (ankle), DE Michael Bennett (knee), DE Damontre Moore (foot).
Inactive for Tampa Bay: QB Ryan Griffin, RB Jacquizz Rodgers, DL Josh Allen, DL Evan Smith, DL Leonard Wester, DT John Hughes, DL Davonte Lambert.
