Brock: ‘A lot to clean up’ for Seahawks after penalty-filled win
Seattle's 14 penalties for 150 yards, which included multiple roughing the passers, are mistakes that need to be fixed, Brock Huard says.

But it certainly wasn’t the cleanest of Seahawks victories.
Seattle was hampered by penalties throughout the contest – a whopping 14 for a franchise-record 150 yards, to be exact.
The penalty problem the Seahawks had was what stuck with former NFL quarterback Brock Huard. You can read Huard’s full analysis below or watch the video at the top of this post.
There’s a fine line when we talk about quarterback play – the line between being aggressive and being reckless – and that did not pertain to Sam Darnold today.
A pretty brutal first-play interception. Otherwise, he took care of the ball, but that was absolutely the mindset of the entire team today.
I think of training camp and think of those T-shirts that said “ministers of violence.” And there’s a fine line you walk when you’re wearing those shirts, when you’re walking that talk. They don’t just talk it, they walk it. And when you want to be a very aggressive and violent team, there is a line that you walk. And today, that line was crossed – that line was at times embarrassingly crossed.
Fourteen penalties. Roughing the passers, roughing the passers, headbutts, roughing the passers, (tackles) out of bounds.
There’s a line that this group has got to walk. You knew they were going to be ticked off and irritated after the loss a week ago. But today, they crossed that line, and they were very fortunate they were playing a beat-up Chargers team, that Herbert turned it over three times, that you got four total takeaways. You could just kind of salt that game away because there were just mistakes galore.
You hate to be negative in a win. This team is 3-1. You celebrate wins. But they sure got a lot to clean up with the 49ers rolling into town next week.
