SEATTLE – The Seattle Seahawks have a history of playing wild games at Lumen Field.
This was certainly among the craziest.

With less than 10 minutes to play in Thursday night’s massive NFC West showdown, the Los Angeles Rams had the ball with a 30-14 lead. At that point, Seattle’s win probability was just 2.7%, according to NFL’s Next Gen Stats. The game seemed over.
But the Seahawks had other ideas.
The Seahawks rattled off 16 straight points in a two-minute span to tie the game, and then prevailed in overtime for a stunning 38-37 win that moved them to 12-3 and gave them the inside track to the NFC West crown and the NFC’s No. 1 seed.
How did Seattle pull it off?
Let’s look back at one of the most off-the-rails victories in Seahawks history.
• Shaheed’s punt return TD (Rams 30, Seahawks 20, 8:03 left in 4Q)
After Seattle’s defense forced a three-and-out, Rashid Shaheed fielded the ensuing punt, raced through a lane and showcased his blazing speed by returning it for a 58-yard touchdown. It was the second special teams TD in the past three games for Shaheed, who had a 100-yard kick return TD against the Atlanta Falcons just 11 days prior.

• A highly unconventional 2-point conversion (Rams 30, Seahawks 30, 6:23 left in 4Q)
The craziest play of the night came on the ensuing 2-point conversion attempt. Darnold tried to hit Zach Charbonnet for a screen pass, but the ball bounced off edge rusher Jared Verse’s helmet and fell to the ground. It was initially ruled an incomplete pass, but after a replay review, it was ruled a backward pass. And since Charbonnet was deemed to have made a clear recovery in the end zone, it was ruled a successful 2-point conversion.
“Is this the craziest 2-point conversion EVER?”

• Darnold to Saubert for the win (Seahawks 38, Rams 37, FINAL)
Rather than play for a potential tie, the Seahawks kept their offense on the field and went for the win. It paid off in the biggest of ways, as Darnold went through his progressions and found tight end Eric Saubert in the front of the end zone for a game-winning 2-point conversion.
