USA Sports’ Pac-12 broadcast crew includes 2 former WSU stars

USA Sports’ Pac-12 football broadcast crew this fall will feature two former WSU Cougars stars.

Former WSU standout quarterback Ryan Leaf will serve as the lead Pac-12 analyst for game broadcasts, while former Cougars standout safety Erik Coleman will be USA Sports’ studio analyst, the network announced on Thursday.

The Pac-12 and USA Sports announced a five-year partnership last November ahead of the conference’s relaunch this summer. USA Sports will broadcast 22 Pac-12 games this fall, including at least five WSU games.

The new-look Pac-12 features eight teams for football: WSU, Oregon State, Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, San Diego State, Utah State and Texas State.

Leaf led WSU to the Rose Bowl with a record-setting 1997 season. He was a Heisman Trophy finalist that year and was the No. 2 overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft.

Leaf co-hosts The Opening Drive on SiriusXM NFL Radio and calls NFL and college football games for Westwood One Sports. He also has served as a college football analyst for The CW, ESPN and the Pac-12 Network.

Coleman was a first-team All-Pac-10 selection in 2003, when he totaled seven interceptions. He went on to have a nine-year NFL career.

Coleman has served as a New York Jets analyst on postgame and studio shows. He also has served as an analyst on SiriusXM NFL Radio.

Former WSU quarterback Alex Brink also will contribute to USA Sports’ Pac-12 coverage as an analyst.
