UW Huskies unveil new all-black alternate football uniforms

The UW Huskies football team unveiled new all-black alternate uniforms on Friday.

The new uniforms are similar to the black alternates they wore in 2024 and 2025, but with a few tweaks.

Most notably, the new version features “DAWGS” in gold across the chest. Also, the new jersey features purple numbers outlined in gold and in a more stylized font. The previous black jerseys had gold numbers with no outline. Also, the new helmet’s facemask is black instead of gold.

Otherwise, the new all-black uniforms are similar to the old ones. The black helmet, jersey and pants each feature a gold stripe outlined by two purple stripes.

The Huskies are 2-1 while wearing all-black uniforms since head coach Jedd Fisch’s arrival in 2024. They wore their all-black alternates in a 31-19 win over UCLA in 2024, a 35-34 loss to Louisville in the 2024 Sun Bowl and a 38-19 win over Rutgers in 2025. Prior to that, the last time Washington wore an all-black look came during a 44-27 win over Arizona during the COVID-shortened 2020 season.

UW opens its 2026 campaign against the archrival WSU Cougars in the 118th Apple Cup on Sunday, Sept. 6, at Husky Stadium.
