Seattle Sounders defender Jackson Ragen was named to the Major League Soccer All-Star team on Wednesday.
Ragen is one of 29 players on the MLS roster for the league’s 2026 All-Star Game, which will pit the MLS All-Stars against the Liga MX All-Stars on July 29 in Charlotte. Liga MX is the top league in Mexico.
This is the first career MLS All-Star selection for Ragen, who has appeared in 170 career matches across all competitions in five seasons with the Sounders.
Ragen, a 28-year-old Seattle native, is the fourth Sounders FC Academy product to earn MLS All-Star honors. He joins DeAndre Yedlin (2013, 2014), Jordan Morris (2022, 2023) and Obed Vargas (2025).
Ragen anchors a Sounders defense that’s surrendered just 11 goals in 13 MLS matches this season, which is tied for the fewest in the league. He also ranks 10th in MLS with 913 completed passes and he recorded an assist in a 2-1 win over FC Dallas on April 25. In 2024, he was a finalist for the MLS Defender of the Year award.
The starting 11 for the MLS All-Stars was announced in early June through a combination of fan, player and media voting. The rest of the MLS roster was announced Wednesday, with 16 players selected by MLS All-Star/Charlotte FC head coach Dean Smith and two selected by MLS commissioner Don Garber.
