SEATTLE MARINERS

“The Hot Stove” lineup

Two hours of baseball talk coming your way Tuesday night on 710 ESPN Seattle.

Three “The Hot Stove” shows in eight days – how lucky are you?

I am looking forward to a good conversation tonight with director of player development Chris Gwynn. Gwynn is the knower of all things in the Mariners’ minor leagues, and despite the number of younger players at the big-league level there are still plenty of intriguing prospects in the farm system. If you have a question about player development or any of the players in the minors, leave it in the comment section. I may have time to get to one or two of them tonight.

Also scheduled to appear on the the show: Taijuan Walker fresh off his FanFest appearance, Mark Langston from the Angels broadcast team, Seattle Times beat writer Ryan Divish, who is covering the Seahawks in the Super Bowl right now, and Rebecca Hale from the Mariners, who be talking LED lights and new jerseys.

Tune in from 7-9 tonight as Rick Rizzs and Dave Valle join me in studio for two hours of baseball talk on 710 ESPN Seattle.

SEATTLE MARINERS

The Hot Stove lineup

Two hours of baseball talk and guests can be heard from 7-9 Tuesday night as The Hot Stove returns.

By Shannon Drayer

The Hot Stove returns to the airwaves Tuesday night from 7-9 pm on 710 ESPN Seattle. Aaron Goldsmith and Mike Blowers will join me in studio for two hours of baseball talk. Lloyd McClendon is scheduled to join the show in the first half hour for an extended interview. We will also hear from Dave Valle, Charlie Furbush and Stefen Romero who are on the first leg of the Mariners Caravan. Larry Stone from the Seattle Times will join us as well and give us his thoughts on how the 2015 Mariners are shaping up.

Hall of Fame voting will be a topic of the night with the results scheduled to be announced at 11am Tuesday morning. We will hear Stone’s thoughts on the newest class of inductees and the voting process which has been under fire in recent years. Valle is not a voter but he did catch Randy Johnson who is sure to be a first ballot inductee and should have unique insight into what made Johnson one of the greats.

The Hot Stove can be heard on 710 ESPN every Tuesday from 7-9pm –with a bonus show from FanFest Saturday January 24–until the beginning of spring training. Plans are still being finalized for the 2015 edition of the Cactus League Report from Peoria. Look for details on this blog and on Twitter @shannondrayer.
