Play ball

The Mariners open the 2025 MLB season at 7:10 p.m. Thursday night against the Athletics, with 2024 All-Star Logan Gilbert set to make his first career opening day start on the mound.

Full game coverage will air on Seattle Sports 710 AM, the flagship station of the Mariners Radio Network, beginning at 6 p.m. with the pregame show hosted by insider Shannon Drayer. Rick Rizzs, longtime voice of the Mariners, will be the lead broadcaster on game coverage, and he will be joined by new full-time Mariners play-by-play announcer Gary Hill Jr.

Seattle Mariners announce new radio, TV broadcast teams

On TV, the game will air on ROOT Sports, with Aaron Goldsmith serving as the lead play-by-play announcer. For the first time ever, ROOT Sports is available this season as a standalone subscription app, allowing in-market fans to stream the Mariners TV broadcasts games. For more info, click here.

The Mariners will open the season with four games against the Athletics, then welcome the Detroit Tigers for three games in Seattle. Next week, they will make their first road trip of the year with a short three-game stop in San Francisco to play the Giants from April 4-6.
