Mariners prospect Kade Anderson turns in another gem

Seattle Mariners pitching prospect Kade Anderson turned in yet another stellar outing Friday in what’s been a remarkable start to his first season of pro baseball.

Making his ninth start of the year for Double-A Arkansas, the 2025 No. 3 overall draft pick spun 5 1/3 scoreless innings as the Travelers won the first game of a doubleheader 4-0 against the Frisco RoughRiders, an affiliate of the Texas Rangers. Anderson struck out nine batters along the way and allowed just two hits and no walks.

Anderson faced the minimum in three of his five full innings and struck out five of the final six batters he faced, including punctuating the performance with a strikeout of the only batter he faced during the sixth inning.

With his latest outing, Anderson lowered his ERA to 1.43 and WHIP to 0.75, both the best marks among qualified Texas League pitchers this year. He also upped his league-leading strikeout total to 67.

The left-hander now has six scoreless starts under his belt this season. He’s allowed more than one run in only one start.

Anderson has continued to climb up prospect rankings during his stellar 2026 campaign. The Athletic’s Keith Law recently ranked Anderson as the No. 4 prospect in all of baseball (up from No. 27 before the season) and the top-ranked non-shortstop prospect. Anderson is also ranked as baseball’s No. 7 prospect by MLB Pipeline and Baseball America.
